Black Gold Pecan Pie

Preheat oven to 350°

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup blackstrap molasses
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1-1/3 cups dark corn syrup
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups golden Trinity Valley Native Pecan Halves
  • 2 unbaked 9-inch pie crusts
In a large bowl, mix together molasses, butter, syrup, and vanilla. Stir in vanilla and eggs, then slowly mix in flour. Make sure all ingredients are well blended, then add half of the Trinity Valley Pecan Halves to the mixture. Place remaining Trinity Valley Pecan Halves on the bottom of each crust and spread evenly. Pour mixture into each crust. Bake 50 – 55 minutes, or until a table knife placed into firm center comes out clean. Cool, then serve topped with whipping cream sprinkled with Trinity Valley Pecan Pieces. Your friends and family will think they’ve struck the mother lode with this lusciously rich dessert.
